Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve is spent with my side of the family, in Auburn.  We start with lunch at the White's, and end with supper with the Hughes'.  And it's usually 11:00pm before we get home that night.  So if Santa was going to get any cookies at our house, we had to make them that morning before we left.

Luckily, our friendly Elf, Rudolph, left us all the supplies we needed when he made our North Pole Breakfast earlier in the month.  Now came the baking!

Miss Hadley felt like quite the chef baking her cookies for Santa.  She felt so big!

I loved this adorable idea from Hadley's daycare...reindeer food.  We went ahead and sprinkled it on the lawn, that morning, before we left.

We sure hope this lures Santa to our house now ;)

I had so much fun dressing Hadley and Canaan in their first actual matching outfits.  This Christmas is just extra-special with BOTH of my sweet babies.

Canaan got lots of love from family all day long.  He is such a happy baby and I am so thankful for that.

This picture blows my mind because I am the OLDEST grandchild in the family.  This is all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren on the White side.  So special!

After lunch, gift-opening for the little ones, and Dirty Santa for the adults, the kids had plenty of play time.  Nothing like good ole' cousin playtime....

of which Parker and Nathan epitomized for us.  There was a dirt pile in the front yard of the house next door, which is just being built.  After a very rainy few days, that dirt pile was very muddy.  They were so dirty that they even had mud in their teeth.  Yuck.  But I bet they never forget this Christmas.

Later that afternoon, we headed to Christmas with the Hughes'.
Nana and Grandaddy...the couple who started it all.  They always get the biggest presents....deservedly so!
We're glad Grandaddy built the sunroom onto their house several years ago.  Our ever-expanding family has needed the space.  Hadley and Amelia enjoyed doctoring Addison.
My cousin, Sara, got some practice holding baby Canaan.  Her sweet baby girl, Harper, is due in March.  After a wonderful time with our Hughes family, we packed up two very sleepy, but one very excited child and headed home to Glasgow.  Hadley talked about Santa Claus coming the entire.trip.home.  We kept telling her that he would only come if she was sleeping, but her excitement level was still through the roof.  This has definitely been the most fun Christmas with her, so far.
